The solid wood cabinets are 9 feet high, with led lights inside for when you open them and double drawers on the bottom throughout. The gorgeous island was created for our personal needs including 4 drawers, a space for a mini refrigerator and a space for a safe. He created a product that is more modern, while still matching the style of the rest of my home. We came upon Genuine Woodworking via an advertisement in a local magazine as we were thinking about re-facing our kitchen cabinets. Upon our initial meeting with Steve, we had a really good feeling about his knowledge, integrity, creative vision and skill. After researching a few other alternatives we were confident in our choice of Genuine Woodworking and Steve did not let us down. From our very first meeting through every interaction via phone, text, e-mail and in person, you could always count on a timely, respectful, patient, and professional response.Steve provided a truly wonderful customer experience as a professional who values quality, integrity, attention to details, and how to make his customers happy.
What began in our mind as a simple kitchen reface turned into a much broader creative project utilizing much of Steve’s design concepts yet keeping the footprint and cabinet configuration as we desired. While part of the project was technically a reface of the cabinet face frames with a very high quality hand-cut wood face as compared to cheap veneers sold elsewhere, the project entailed many more aspects that transformed our kitchen into a “custom” design kitchen. A few of the details include: modern custom door and drawer fronts;new hardwood maple drawers crafted with dovetail corners and soft-close hardware; addition of custom end panels, new cabinet moldings, toe-kicks, and modern drawer and door pull hardware in various lengths to match the décor. Two significant design additions included a custom cabinet enclosure for the refrigerator and to fill the gap from the existing cabinets to the ceiling – Steve designed a unique, glass-paneled, interior-lighted transom which gave the kitchen a true transformational look. To further enhance Steve’s great cabinetry work, we updated our appliances, countertops, backsplash and lighting. The sum of all this…Spectacular Results!

"I recently contracted Genuine Woodworking to design and build a large built-in bookcase with fireplace mantel as well as cabinetry for a dry bar.
