Advantages:
Compared to conversion varnish, the most durable of the catalyzed finishes — 2K (two part)  polyurethane is even more durable than conversion varnish.  According to the Architectural Woodwork Institute, it is more wear, heat, solvent, moisture & stain-resistant.​
