We came upon Genuine Woodworking via an advertisement in a local magazine as we were thinking about re-facing our kitchen cabinets. What began in our mind as a simple kitchen reface turned into a much broader creative project utilizing much of Steve’s design concepts yet keeping the footprint and cabinet configuration as we desired. While part of the project was technically a reface of the cabinet face frames with a very high quality hand-cut wood face as compared to cheap veneers sold elsewhere, the project entailed many more aspects that transformed our kitchen into a “custom” design kitchen. A few of the details include: modern custom door and drawer fronts;new hardwood maple drawers crafted with dovetail corners and soft-close hardware; addition of custom end panels, new cabinet moldings, toe-kicks, and modern drawer and door pull hardware in various lengths to match the décor. Two significant design additions included a custom cabinet enclosure for the refrigerator and to fill the gap from the existing cabinets to the ceiling – Steve designed a unique, glass-paneled, interior-lighted transom which gave the kitchen a true transformational look. To further enhance Steve’s great cabinetry work, we updated our appliances, countertops, backsplash and lighting. The sum of all this…Spectacular Results!
